Hastelloy plates are suitable for various chemical industries involving both oxidizing and reducing media. The high molybdenum and chromium content enables the alloy to resist chloride ion corrosion, while the addition of tungsten further enhances its corrosion resistance.
Among them, Hastelloy C-276 tubes are one of the few materials capable of withstanding corrosion from wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite, and chlorine dioxide solutions. They also exhibit exceptional resistance to highly concentrated chloride salt solutions, such as ferric chloride and copper chloride.

Characteristics of Hastelloy Plates


Excellent Corrosion Resistance

Hastelloy plates demonstrate outstanding corrosion resistance in various acidic, alkaline, and saline environments, effectively resisting oxidation, sulfidation, chlorination, and fluoridation. With high molybdenum and chromium content, they exhibit strong resistance to chloride ion corrosion, while tungsten further enhances their corrosion resistance. As a result, Hastelloy plates perform exceptionally well in highly corrosive media, including wet chlorine gas, hypochlorite solutions, and chlorine dioxide.


Stable High-Temperature Performance

Hastelloy plates possess excellent high-temperature strength and creep resistance, enabling long-term stable operation in elevated-temperature environments. Their stability under thermal stress allows them to withstand both oxidizing and reducing atmospheres at high temperatures, making them widely used in boilers, heat exchangers, flue gas desulfurization (FGD), and denitrification systems under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.


Good Mechanical Properties

Hastelloy plates feature high hardness, strength, and wear resistance, allowing them to endure significant pressure and friction. Additionally, they exhibit excellent workability, supporting various machining processes such as shearing, bending, and drilling while maintaining a smooth surface finish.

The welded joints retain strength and corrosion resistance comparable to the base material. This makes Hastelloy plates an ideal choice for constructing welded structures subjected to high loads, medium speeds, impact, or alternating stresses.

Our Hastelloy alloy production line is specifically configured for high-performance specialty alloys, with precision control at its core. The process begins with VIM+VAR duplex melting or ESR electroslag remelting to ensure exceptional material purity and compositional homogeneity. Multi-directional forging or heavy slab rolling is employed for breakdown to thoroughly refine the as-cast structure. The finish rolling is carried out on advanced CNC hot/cold rolling mills, complemented by precision heat treatment furnaces (solution annealing) to accurately control grain size and phase composition. The entire process is conducted in a clean environment and is equipped with a comprehensive suite of inspection instruments, including direct-reading spectrometers, ultrasonic flaw detectors, and corrosion testing equipment, ensuring that the metallurgical quality and performance of each batch of plates fully comply with international standards such as ASTM B575.
